Trusting God in the Big Stuff, the Little Stuff and the In-Between Stuff

I struggle with anxiety like many of you.  I worry about my future.  Will I get a good job someday?  Will I do well in college?  Did I pick the right major?  Will all my needs be provided for?  Numerous times in the Bible God talks about worry.  In my Bible, every passage of scripture dealing with anxiety and worrying is highlighted, underlined, and starred in hopes of me reading it and getting the memo: stop worrying! Thank You for Finding Me

I am a huge Christian music fan, and recently found a new Christian artist, Dara Maclean.  Her music touches my heart and brings me a sense of peace.  I feel like she wrote these songs just for me.  Today, I have been stressing about a million different things and her song “Yours Forever” came to mind.  This song resonates with me because its starts off by describing life before Christ–lonely and hopeless.  My life before Christ was pretty hopeless, and I was definitely in need of a savior.   [Read more...]

He is With Me

Last night I cracked open my Bible to a random passage in Psalm and I came across Psalm 139.  One verse in particular stuck out to me.  ”Where can I go from your spirit? Or where can I flee from your presence” Psalm 139:7.”  This question is answered in verses 9 and 10: “If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.”  I am so comforted by that passage because no matter where we are or what circumstances we are in, God is with us every step of the way.  I struggle with anxiety, and I have struggled with anxiety since I was a kid, so passages like this are extremely comforting to me.   [Read more...]
