Let God Take Over

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28

“Stop trying to do it on your own.  Stop trying to do everything in your own strength.”—I hear God whispering those very phrases into my ear.  Why do I keep trying to go this life alone?  Why do I try to make my own plans?  God is the one in control, He is the one who has all the strength and wisdom.  And the best part is, He isn’t selfish; He gives us strength, wisdom, and rest, we just have to ask for it.

If you are like me today, give all your  burdens, stresses, worries, and long to-do lists over to God.  He is the one in control of your life; lean on Him for guidance and strength because if you try to do it on your own, you will be left weary and exhausted.  He promises to give us rest and take our burdens, but we have to take that first step of faith.  If you are having a difficult week full of worries and stresses.  If you keep trying to carry your sins, regrets, and past with you.  Give all of it over to God.  Once you release all of your burdens, God will restore you and fill you with incredible strength and peace.

Let’s stop trying to do everything on our own.  It is time we let God take over!

Great thoughts and very encouraging. I forget sometimes to turn my problems over to God and when I do things get stressful. Our sinful nature often takes the approach of trying to take care of things by onesself. Thanks for posting the video as well…great start to my day.

I am so happy you were encouraged! I try to do things on my own and then I get tired and discouraged. When I let God help, things go a lot smoother! Praying you are having a blessed week!

  2. Thank you, Sarah. I need this reminder every day. I ask the Lord to keep me so weak that I constantly depend on Him. I think of these 2 verses:

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Cor. 12:9-10
(I thank God for everything that drives me to help and reveals His power and love in my life!)

“Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” Gal. 3:3
(I want the Lord to keep me relying on Him and His Spirit all the way to the end!!)

I am so thankful for the Lord’s mercy that is new every morning. I am thankful for your post today. May Jesus keep you hidden in Him, so that you may abide in Him and all grace may abound in you through Him.
    Love,
    Natalie

    • oops. typo. meant “drives me to HIM” (not help) :)
