God’s Not Dead Tour is a Must See!

Newboys' Lead Singer

My mom and I had the privilege to see the God’s Not Dead Tour this week!  It was a blessing to have a wonderful night of worship.  I got to see some of my favorite Christian bands and I even got to meet some of them! The Newsboys, Anthem Lights, The City Harmonic, and Abandon performed that night.  Also, Bob Lenz, a Christian speaker and advocate for Compassion International spoke.  He has such a heart for telling others about Jesus and advancing the Gospel.  I was thrilled that he supports Compassion International and that he urged others to sponsor children. Seeing all the people rush to the Compassion booth filled me with joy!  The best part of the night was seeing many people come to know Jesus as their personal Savior. Praise God!

The opening act of the concert was Anthem Lights.  I have to admit I was a giddy little school girl when I saw them come on stage.  I have been jamming out to their music in my dorm room all year, so to see them live was awesome.  They sang my favorite songs “Can’t Get Over You, Outta My Mind, and Can’t Shut Up.”  After the concert, I had the opportunity to meet them and they are such a cool group of guys!  They have such a heart for serving God.

The next act was Abandon.  I recently started listening to their music and I am obsessed with them now!  I was freaking out when they started to play my favorite song, “New Years Day.”  They also played my two other favorites “Hero” and “Feel It in Your Heart.”  I can’t wait until they write more songs because I love their music.  I got to meet some members of the band afterwards and they are super nice, Godly men!

The last band before the Newsboys was The City Harmonic.  I love, love, love their song, “Manifesto.”  I started to freak out when they started to play it.  The lead singer, Elias Dummer is an amazing piano player!  I really enjoyed their performance, especially hearing “Mountaintop.”  What a wonderful song!  I got to meet them after the concert and they are a really cool group of Christian guys!

The last band to perform was the one and only….drum roll please….the Newsboys!  I saw them in concert a few years ago when Peter Furler was the lead singer.  I loved their performance!!  Michael Tait is now the lead singer and he does an amazing job.  He has such heart for telling others about Jesus, and I love that he and the rest of the band support Compassion International.  One of the best parts of the night was when the drummer, Duncan Phillips’ drum platform started going up in the air and then spinning on its side.  What an awesome sight!  Their performance was amazing!  When my favorite song, “God’s Not Dead,” started playing I could hardly contain myself.  Other great songs of the night included, “Your Love Never Fails, Born Again,  and Jesus Freaks”

My mom and I were  blessed by the night of worship! It was fun for me to hear my favorite bands live because I listen to their music everyday and jam out in my room to their albums.  God is using these bands and their music to proclaim His name and bring hope.

If the God’s Not Dead Tour is coming to a city near you, don’t miss out—buy tickets right away!  You won’t regret going to the concert!

  1. When “God’s Not Dead” comes on the radio, I crank it up. My oldest boy, 4 yrs old, loves to sing along when it gets to the chorus of “My God’s not dead, He’s surely alive, He’s living on the inside,
Roaring like a lion”…he gets quite excited and sings along (and roars!!!).
