I have stylish older brothers that have paying jobs and buy really cool stuff. I get jealous at times. This week we all went shopping, and while I was looking in one of my favorite stores they bought watches. When I came out of the store, I was bummed and I asked why they didn’t include me in their watch purchase; well, of course, I am not a part of the boys-only club and I am a sister not a brother. Oh, well I guess.
There is more to this story. Today I came across a really cool company, I Won’t Watch. They have partnered with Compassion International, so every time a person buys a watch (a really cool watch by the way)a portion goes to Compassion International to help the children and families they serve.
Here is the mission of the company.
To provide opportunities for people to combat the causes, and conditions of poverty around the world, sponsoring water, health, education, and shelter projects on an annual basis. The average person glances at their watch 20 times a day. We see watches as a first entrance into a lifetime of combating and advocating for those who suffer from poverty.
What a cool way to help those in need. You get a cute, affordable watch, you get to help those in need, and you get to become an advocate for children and families suffering in poverty. Compassion International is near and dear to my heart because I sponsor children, and God has used sponsoring to open my eyes and change my heart.
The watches cost $25 and they come in all different colors. The $25 includes packaging, shipping, and handling, and after all that is figured into the price, 50% of the after shipping & handling price ($8) goes to help those in need. I Won’t Watch also partners with churches and youth groups to help them fundraise for their own cause.
Now my rambling on and on at the beginning makes sense. I was meant to be excluded from my brothers’ watch purchases for a reason. Now I found out about I Won’t Watch, and I just made purchase. The Signature I Won’t Watch Bright Blue watch will be coming to my house in 3-7 business days and I can’t wait.
Check out I Won’t Watch!
